Winter consists of thermals and plaid

Getting Ready video for this look:

I love this thermal long-sleeved shirt, it's so warm and comfy. I wish I had grabbed some more before they sold out.. Basically what I did this morning was get my wisdom teeth taken out. I was awake during the whole procedure and at one point my dentist and her assistant made a joke and we all laughed. Yes, I laughed while getting my teeth pulled out. It felt very therapeutic actually. Someone asked me why I never show what jacket I wear in my outfit of the days. The reason is that I live in Canada so there is no way for me to look fashionable in the kind of jacket I wear. I'll do a video/post on my Canadian winter wear soon.

ps. above you can watch the "getting ready" video I recorded for that day. On a daily basis I wear less makeup but what the hey.

A kind of review

Hey remember my last post about tall boots? Well I went to Zara and tried the wedge ones but they were so uncomfortable and I couldn't find the gator ones anywhere! So I copped these studded booties instead. I promised myself I wouldn't buy anymore booties, but every time I went to Zara they were THERE so after much deliberation I spent half my paycheck on them. And I'm glad I did, they're so wonderful.

Here are my thoughts: I love the looseness and boxyness at the ankle part. If you don't like space at the ankles then these are not for you! For a person who finds it hard to buy shoes because of extremely wide feet, these are really comfortable! Don't let the pointyness scare you like it scared me at first. The heel is not high but it's high enough that it's beautiful.
Sorry about the crappy picture. Outfit posts with them will be up soon!

Boot season is here...

Lately I've been on the hunt for black leather tall boots with heels. I want the calf part to be loose and stiff, not slouchy or tight. I've been eyeing a few pairs from Zara but I haven't had the guts to buy them yet. Here are a few I'm loving at the moment.

Spat heel boot (Zara) - $169
High cut wedge boots (Zara) - $199
Sonny boots (Elizabeth and James) - $495

My fave is the high cut wedge boots from Zara. Hopefully I will make them mine this week :)

Recycling outfits

Worst pictures ever. This is basically last post's outfit with a different skirt and sweater. Really shows how much I love the chunky sweater + skirt + boots look these days. Note-to-self: wear something different tomorrow. This skirt is one size too big for me, but I tried to make it work.

Take me out

The weather was pretty okay today so I decided to wear a skirt. Sweater borrowed from Megz (read her blog here) and apparently it makes me look like a piñata. Anyways, this is what I look like on a good day at school. Hope everyone's having a good week, I'm having a pretty fantastic one!

Sir

Hey y'all, I am literally a man. Someone stop me from shopping in the Gap men's section. I really loved the Alexander Wang tweed-print sweatpants (found here). I'm so glad I found these... they're actually pyjamas :) this is the most casual i would ever go. I finally have a post up with my sneaker wedges. Self-five.

Ombr-hey!

Woah, long time no blog. I've been loving this waffle-knit sweater a little too much. And these ombre pants make my legs look weird but I got them a while ago and decided to rock them today. p.s. man those thighs are looking meaty.

In your face

The whole reason behind this outfit was the belt. Leopard & pony hair = perfect. I busted out these red jeans circa 2009 and a denim shirt with simple black boots. I would've also worn this with a white t-shirt.

Silver eBay Accessories

Fall was arriving and I needed new accessories. This fall, I'm really into that 90's grunge look, so I'll be accessorizing a lot with silver jewelry. I also got some studs for shorts and possibly shoes. eBay is the BEST place for cheap jewelry and awesome accessories. These pieces are not too bad in quality, especially the rings and claw bracelet. Prices below are in Canadian Dollars and include shipping. If you would like to be redirected to the selling pages of these items, just click on the item name below.

Over The Knuckle Rings ($5.14)
Claw Bracelet ($2.77)
Skull Bracelet ($1.42)
Flathead Studs ($1.95)
Cone Studs ($2.64)
Studded Collar Tip Chain ($2.30)

Burgundy Delight

My favorite look of the fall season would be the vampy lips. I love them all - dark red, burgundy, dark purples, deep plums. Out of all of them, burgundy would be my favorite. I like to pair it up with long, spider lashes, and thick eyebrows. No blush, only contoured cheeks.

Gap x GQ

Each year, GQ chooses the best new menswear designer out of six nominees. Last year, Alexander Wang won this title. Just an FYI. Now, I don't blog much about the fashion world itself, but I think it would be cool to write a post about this. The six finalists for this year will be collaborating on a limited edition GQ collection at Gap that will be released across the nation. This means you can get your hands on pieces designed by Ian Velardi, Saturdays Surf NYC, Mark McNairy New Amsterdam, Todd Snyder, BLK DNM, Ovadia & Sons for a much lower price. I guess one of the reasons why I'm even talking about this collaboration is because I actually work at Gap and I will be at the launch of this collection this Thursday September 27 at downtown Montreal (not as a blogger of course, as an employee). I'm very impressed by how diverse all the pieces are and I'm also excited because, well, if you've ever seen the itty bitty men's section at Gap, you'd be excited too. Will be grabbing one or two pieces for the bf.

My Makeup Capsule

Just finished watching Lisa Eldridge's video (watch here) on getting your makeup organized in order to achieve effortless beauty. I really like how she organized her 'makeup capsule' (which basically means a collection of simple, quick and timeless makeup) into seven categories. Although I don't have exactly all seven the way she described it, I decided to show you my own capsule.

Chanel Vitalumière Aqua foundation (20 Beige)- $46.30
MAC Studio Finish concealer (NC20) - $18.00
Benefit Hoola Bronzer - $28.00
MAC Fix+ - $20.00
Urban Decay Naked palette - $50.00
Anastasia Brow Wiz (Medium Ash) - $20.00
L'Oréal Voluminous Hydrofuge mascara (Carbon Black) - $5.99
Rimmel Lasting Finish lipliner (050 Tiramisu) - $3.19
L'Oréal Colour Riche Balm (818 Nourishing Nude) - $7.99

Note: All prices are from online stores such as Sephora, Nordstrom, Ulta, or my own receipts. Prices are before taxes and shipping. Most items are priced in Canadian Dollars.
