Gridlock

There's only a handful of patterns that appeal to me, and one of them this season was the grid. It combines everything I love about a pattern: bold, simple, symmetrical. Yes, I said symmetrical. I also despise anyone who wears their jacket over their shoulders, mostly because I don't have the perfect shoulders to do that myself (jacket always ends up slipping off), but for some reason this Tibi coat is perfect for that. And so was the weather today, which is a miracle.

Hump day

It's Wednesday - only halfway through the week but it feels like you've been sitting in this class/in this office/at home (you lucky self-employed bastard) for an eternity. You woke up this morning and thought, man, how am I going to get my ass off this bed? You begin to feel that sensation of -ugh- when you see your most beloved heels patiently standing on a shelf, begging for you to love them again. Unfortunately, even the thought of putting jeans on makes you feel uneasy, so forget about heels. So there you are, sitting at your desk wearing Lulu Lemon leggings (again?) with a fisherman pullover sweater. 

But hooooney, there is a way out of this vicious cycle of bangin' outfits and leggings! Sometimes you feel like there's no in between, but there certainly is. Turn your worst enemy, sweatpants, into a fashion ally. 'Tis the season to be comfy!

West Coast Photo Diary

So, it's been a minute, huh? I've been living in Doc Martens and winter coats, which I find hardly merits a blog post. Who walks in -25 degree weather in a Wang leather jacket whilst carrying a Phillip Lim tote? Certainly not me. Trust me, I've tried, it's just not worth it. The winter weather has made me too grumpy and lazy to do anything more than scroll through instagram and watch episodes of game of thrones. Bah humbug. 

When I got the chance to escape to a warmer place last month, I packed as quick as I could and boarded on the flight. It's January and I can wear shorts?? IT'S A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE. I grew fond of San Francisco (I was only there for a day, but didn't take me long to realize that it's probably my favorite west coast city) and built a very strong bond with In n Out. Took some snaps, too.
