Burgundy Delight

My favorite look of the fall season would be the vampy lips. I love them all - dark red, burgundy, dark purples, deep plums. Out of all of them, burgundy would be my favorite. I like to pair it up with long, spider lashes, and thick eyebrows. No blush, only contoured cheeks.

Gap x GQ

Each year, GQ chooses the best new menswear designer out of six nominees. Last year, Alexander Wang won this title. Just an FYI. Now, I don't blog much about the fashion world itself, but I think it would be cool to write a post about this. The six finalists for this year will be collaborating on a limited edition GQ collection at Gap that will be released across the nation. This means you can get your hands on pieces designed by Ian Velardi, Saturdays Surf NYC, Mark McNairy New Amsterdam, Todd Snyder, BLK DNM, Ovadia & Sons for a much lower price. I guess one of the reasons why I'm even talking about this collaboration is because I actually work at Gap and I will be at the launch of this collection this Thursday September 27 at downtown Montreal (not as a blogger of course, as an employee). I'm very impressed by how diverse all the pieces are and I'm also excited because, well, if you've ever seen the itty bitty men's section at Gap, you'd be excited too. Will be grabbing one or two pieces for the bf.

My Makeup Capsule

Just finished watching Lisa Eldridge's video (watch here) on getting your makeup organized in order to achieve effortless beauty. I really like how she organized her 'makeup capsule' (which basically means a collection of simple, quick and timeless makeup) into seven categories. Although I don't have exactly all seven the way she described it, I decided to show you my own capsule.

Back to Basics

 

 

My favourite duo of the summer is denim cutoffs and a crop top. Plus these heels are gorgeous. Such a simple outfit but I still look dressed up. I've also been into thicker eyebrows for the fall, long eyelashes and nude lips or plum lips. Here I'm sporting an intense cat flick but I rarely ever wear one.

Throwback Thursdays - Younger Years

 

 

Elementary school was when I first started to take interest in what I wore. While everybody in my school was wearing Nike, Jordans and Puma, I stepped out of the box and purchased a pair of black, high-top Converses. Most of my classmates made fun of me and called them "clown shoes", and it didn't help that my gym teacher chuckled and said "Oh, I remember when I wore Chuck Taylors in the 80's!" in front of everybody. I also had weird bald spots as a toddler and my hair didn't grow fast or evenly, so strangers always thought I was a boy. I was pretty much decked out in Gap during my younger years, which is funny, because I work there now.

At Chinatown in killer floral pants; my rebel days included jeans, converses, studded belts and band t-shirts; my sweet lion king outfit and my mom always clipped or tied a piece of hair up to assure strangers I was a girl; more floral! this jumpsuit is too cute; had my birthday party at a burger king and was forced to wear this poufy dress; wore this dress with sheer mesh/lace at the top, my brother is on the right; at the beach in a tie-dyed bathing suit; wow so hipster in 90's style windbreaker and on a bike in a forest (camping trip).

The proportions of these images are horrible. Aside from that... I'm big on making wishlists. Here are some of my fall NECESSITIES!

1. Cable sweater by Gap in Soft Ivory - I absolutely love this sweater. I have it in grey already and I wear it a lot. It can be casual with jeans or fancier with a mini skirt and heels.

2. Broken-in straight khakis by Gap in Icon Wash - I also have these pants in the coral colour (from the summer collection). They're SO comfy and provide perfect slouch. I want to pair them with manly brogues and pretty knits. 

3. 1969 ankle zip legging jeans by Gap in Tropic Green - These pants are a much darker forest green in real life. So gorgeous and would be perfect with the cable knit sweater. I've been dying for forest green pants!

4. Venice wedge sneaker by Jeffrey Campbell - I did a post about these wedges here. I finally decided I want the red ones. I will most likely purchase the black ones if they go on sale, or another style of sneaker wedges in black. Kicks are in baby!

5. Floppy brim fedora by Rag & Bone - Since last fall, I've loved and lusted over Rag & Bone fedoras (as well as their other accessories). I want a brown or reddish-brown one with a straight brim and a masculine feel. 

6. Midsized chronograph watch by Michael Kors - I don't even have a watch, can you believe it? I haven't jumped on the oversized gold watch train yet, but I definitely will this season. Gold is classic. I will literally wear this watch everyday.

7. Wayfarer by Ray Ban - It's been too long since I've wanted a pair of Ray Bans. I think this fall will finally be the time I purchase them. They're so classic and can instantly casualize an outfit paired with messy, beachy waves, or make an outfit look sleek paired with a slicked-back ponytail.

8. Illusion d'ombre eyeshadow by Chanel in Illusoire - I've seen this product in one of Pixiwoo's videos and ooh'd and ahh'd at how gorgeous it looks on the eyelid (smoked out, of course). I've been loving Chanel makeup lately!

9. Rouge pur couture glossy stain by YSL in Violet Edition - Plum lips are my go-to statement lip colour for fall every year. That and burgundy. I already have this product in Orange de Chine and love the consistency and staying power. Absolutely amazing product, I suggest you go to your local Sephora and try it out!

10. Naked 2 palette by Urban Decay - I use the original Naked palette on a daily basis. The staying power is awesome since I have pretty oily eyelids. I still prefer MAC eyeshadows but it's so convenient to have all the perfect colours in one place. Therefore I need the Naked 2!
